Terms of Service

The agreement between you and GalaxDB for using our products and services. Plain English wherever possible.

Effective January 1, 2026

01.Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using GalaxDB Cloud, our website, or any related services (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you're using the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

02.About the services

GalaxDB Cloud is a managed deployment of the GalaxDB database. The open-source GalaxDB engine is licensed separately under the Apache License 2.0 and these Terms do not govern your use of the OSS engine.

03.Your account

You're responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at security@galaxdb.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

04.Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Services to:

  • Violate any law or third-party rights, including intellectual property rights.
  • Send spam, malware, or unsolicited communications.
  • Reverse-engineer the Services to extract proprietary code (the OSS engine is fair game; the cloud control plane is not).
  • Probe or test the vulnerability of the Services without prior written consent (see our security page for our disclosure program).

05.Fees and payment

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance based on your selected tier and metered usage. We'll notify you 30 days before any price increase. Overdue accounts may be suspended after a 14-day grace period.

06.Service-level agreements

Production tiers carry a 99.9% monthly uptime SLA. Enterprise plans negotiate custom SLAs. Service credits and remedies are detailed in the SLA addendum at galaxdb.com/sla.

07.Termination

Either party may terminate these Terms at any time. We'll give you 30 days to export your data before deletion, except where immediate termination is required by law or to protect the security of the Services.

08.Disclaimers

The Services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

09.Limitation of liability

Our total aggregate liability under these Terms is capped at the greater of (a) fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim or (b) USD $100. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

10.Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflicts-of-law principles. Disputes are resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.

11.Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
